Description: A Tangy, yet complex blue cheese from Auvergne. Considered by many to be France's answer to Stilton.
One of France's oldest cheeses, Fourme D'Ambert's roots date back to the time of the GaulsPeacock
One of France's oldest documented blue cheeses, Fourme D'ambert dates back to Roman times and is one of the popular blue cheeses available in France. It is aged for a minimum of two months, during which it is injected with a sweet white wine called Vouvray Moelleux. The cheese has a dense, creamy, almost fudgy interior and a distinct fruity, tangy quality from the wine. Fourme d'Ambert works well in souffles and salads, as well as on your next cheese board with a fruity Cotes Du Rhone.
