Description: A favorite Pecorino Italian table cheeses at Di Bruno's, semi soft and tangy.
One of my favorite pecorinos. Sharp enough to please the hard Italian cheese aficianado but well balanced enough to please the cheese novice. A joy to eat and to introduce to new fans.Morillo
This is one of the long time favorite Pecorino Italian table cheeses at Di Bruno's. It is a semi-soft sheep's milk cheese from Crotone, a small mountainous city in Calabria in Italy. The cheese has a distinctive hatched indentation on the rind, because it is aged in a wicker basket for 6 months. The cheese hits the palate with a strong smell and mildly sharp sheep flavor and a nutty, citrusy zest. We recommend enjoying this cheese as a simple snacking cheese by itself, or pairing with antipasti; salami, soppressatta, olives, marinated mushrooms, and roasted peppers!
