Look no further than our mini raw-milk Camembert, direct from Normandy! Dating back to 1702 in the open air markets of Vimoutiers in Normandy, we see first mention of Livarot and Camembert cheeses almost 100 years before Marie Harel was credited with the invention of Camembert. The best source of Camembert is still the Pays d'Auge region and is widely available in its pasteurized version, while the au lait cru, (raw milk) wheels are a bit harder to find. Our House Camembert is surely worthy of a stamp of origin, but always look for the term V.C.N (Veritable Camembert de Normandie) which means it's the real thing.

Full flavored and lightly fruity with hints of garlic, mushrooms and wood, always look for a camembert that has a plump paste and a pale golden interior. It should not be too runny in the middle. Serve anytime with fresh fruit, but best of course by itself. Try baking our mini wheels layered with chanterelles for first class baked brie!
