Opening in Ardmore Farmers Market in Suburban Square March 2011
PHILADELPHIA—Di Bruno Bros. will open a location in the Ardmore Farmers Market in Suburban Square in March 2011. The business will occupy five stalls across two aisles of the market, and will offer a highly edited collection representing the best of Di Bruno Bros. international specialties and prepared foods.
“We are honored to be asked to join the region’s oldest and best Farmer’s Market and to bring the legacy and spirit of Di Bruno Bros. to the Main Line,” said Billy Mignucci, President of DiBruno Bros. “Our goal is to complement the existing tenant mix with the best of our gourmet offerings.”
The Ardmore location of Di Bruno Bros. will continue the company’s tradition of relentless customer service and fulfilling the requests of the most demanding culinary enthusiasts. Specialty items not already available in any of the locations can be ordered from anywhere in the world with no additional charge.
Fresh mozzarella will be made on the premises with complimentary sampling on Fridays and Saturdays. A small cooking demonstration area will allow for regular culinary presentations by Di Bruno’s own chefs and visiting chefs from the area and the world. Di Bruno Bros. will collaborate with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and local and international beer breweries to present wine, beer and cheese pairings and tastings at the Ardmore Farmers Market location. Custom corporate and personal catering services will be offered—with staff available for meetings and tasting in the Ardmore Farmers Market or at the client’s location. A boutique section of special occasion items, like foie gras and Petrossian caviar will be found alongside a grand opening special of $9.99 Parmigiano Reggiano.
The Ardmore Farmers Market location will continue the retailer’s flair for the visual as seen in the Di Bruno Bros. gourmet emporium on Chestnut Street in Rittenhouse Row. Visitors will find 200 pound wheels of cheese, hanging provolones, legs of prosciutto set against a sleek backdrop by New York designer Hugh Boyd, designer of Lexington Market.
DiBruno Bros. first opened in Philadelphia’s Italian Market in 1939 as a grocery and convenience store. In 1965, the business was reinvented as Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese.
The Ardmore Farmers Market is owned and operated by Kimco Realty and located at Anderson and Coulter Avenues in the Suburban Square retail complex. Di Bruno Bros. will be open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday.
