The Flavor Experience

A rare example of Gouda made with sheep's milk.  The extra fat content of sheep's milk results and a somewhat sweeter style of Gouda, but it is nicely balanced with grassy and nutty flavors.  This is an easy one to fall in love with, so be careful.

The Story

The producers of this cheese have been granted the right to let their sheep feed on a nature reserve in Holland.  It is said that the sheep eat even better than the cheese maker herself, and the ewes are treated like family members. 

Usage Tips

Pair with Brown or Amber Ales or Wheat Beers.  An easy pairing for oaky white wines and even whiskey.

    Our family have long been fans of this delicious cheese. Beautiful, mellow flavor, not overwhelming, but plenty of character.

    We all love Gouda cheeses, especially aged ones. This sweeps milk, aged, is absolutely the best. I order top of the line aged gouda from the Netherlands, and this one beats it hands down.

    We are this cheese at Palma’s Vineyards in Napa during a wine tasting and it was off the charts, by far, the best to complement a charcuterie board.

    What a delightful cheese. A bit crumbly, smooth taste - a little sharp but not biting. Give me a chunk of Ewephoria, some olive oil crackers and a dry white wine, and I'm in heaven!
